31 July 2007; The Professional Footballers Association of Ireland (PFAI) has announced that Ford has become the official sponsor of its highly successful annual players' awards. As part of the sponsorship Ford will provide the Premier Division and First Division Players' of the Year with the exclusive use of a new Ford Focus for the following year. The agreement between Ford and the PFAI further demonstrates Ford's commitment to Irish Football. 30 July 2007; Setanta Sports has announced a major coup in signing Irishman Des Lynam, James Richardson and Neil Warnock to its presenting ranks in time for their coverage of 79 exclusively live Barclays Premier League games in the 2007/08 season beginning with Bolton Wanderers v Newcastle and Aston Villa v Liverpool on Saturday 11th August next. The godfather of football Des Lynam, a native of Co. Clare, is to interview key football figures exclusively for Setanta Sports, starting with Martin O’Neill ahead of Setanta’s first Barclays Premier League match between Aston Villa and Liverpool live at 5.15pm on Saturday August 11th.
