Irish Cancer Society's Hurling for Cancer Research 2015
11 August 2015; Ireland’s GAA and Horse Racing ‘All Stars’ got their hurleys out for cancer research on Tuesday night at Saint Conleth’s Park, Newbridge, Kildare, for a celebrity hurling match in aid of the Irish Cancer Society to raise money for cancer research. The event, which was organised by horseracing legend Jim Bolger, along with champion jockey Davy Russell, saw a host of Irish hurling and horse racing stars come together for a fantastic game, which also boasted celebrity referees, lineswomen and umpires - who included DJ Carey, Brian Cody, Liam Griffin, Niall Quinn and Cyril Farrell - to name but a few. The final score last night was: Jim Bolger’s Stars 3-23, Davy Russell’s Best 3-15.
