TG4 Ladies Football Championship Launch 2016
13 July 2016; Ladies Gaelic Football are set to Change the Record. Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan, T.D. launched the 2016 TG4 All Ireland Championships at Croke Park as the LGFA President, Marie Hickey announced that TG4 and the LGFA were joining forces to attempt to set a new attendance record for the TG4 All Ireland Championships. The previous record of 33,000 was set in 2001 when Laois played Mayo. The LGFA President also urged supporters of the game to start looking inwards to support the game rather than criticising a lack of media coverage.
