16 March 2009; Séamus Spaight, Meelick GAA Club, Co. Clare, is presented with a GAA President's Award by Uachtarán CLG Criostóir Ó Cuana, in the company of Pol O Gallchoir, Ceannsai, TG4, and Joanne Lee, Head of Internal Cummunications, AIB. Seamus became Club Treasurer in 1976, a position he holds to this day. He spearheaded the purchase and development of the club grounds at Meelick, which included the land initially purchased in the early 1980s, the dressing rooms built in 1990 and a new sand-based pitch in 2003.
