Tribute Event for Rena Buckley
13 January 2018; Cork Camogie and Ladies Football legend Rena Buckley was today honoured by both the Camogie Association and Ladies Gaelic Football Association in a special event hosted in Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh to recognise her extraordinary achievements in her career to date. Rena was presented with a special sculpture to mark her incredible haul of All-Ireland titles in both codes which now total 11 titles in Ladies Football and 7 in Camogie to make her the most successful player in Gaelic Games with 18 All-Ireland titles in addition to numerous other club, county and individual accolades. In 2017 she also completed the unique achievement of having captained her county to glory in both Camogie and Ladies Football during her career. The Presidents of both Associations, Catherine Neary of the Camogie Association and Marie Hickey of the LFGA were on hand to present Rena with her award along with a host of friends, family, current and former teammates amongst the attendees at today’s event.
