Grant Thornton Corporate 5k Team Challenge 2014
2 September 2014; A record 3,856 runners making up 964 teams took part in the third annual Grant Thornton Corporate 5k Team Challenge this evening in the Dublin Docklands. The event welcomed both beginners and seasoned runners including event Ambassador Catherina McKiernan. Team Trophies were presented for the top five teams in the male, female and mixed categories. Grant Thornton had the largest turnout with 40 teams while retailers Dunnes Stores entered 23 teams, HSBC had 14 and AON 12 teams tonight. New Health Minister Leo Varadkar also ran with 2 teams under the name Healthy Ireland reflecting the Department’s new strategy. Event Ambassador, Olympian and former London Marathon winner Catherina McKiernan commented on race, “It was a fantastic sight to see so many people out running and enjoying themselves.
