30 January 2008; Training with the Irish rugby team before their first game of the Six Nations was Taylor Whyte, age 8, winner of the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Search for a Mascot Competition. As the official team mascot, Taylor will lead the Irish rugby team out in Croke Park for the Ireland v Italy 6 Nations game on Saturday 2nd of February. Taylor, an avid rugby fan who unfortunately cannot play rugby seriously himself due to a congenital heart defect, was selected from hundreds of entries from throughout the country.
