11 August 2016; Former Cork dual star of the 1970s and early 1980s, Ray Cummins, and Mayo’s Paddy Prendergast, a surviving member of the successful 1951 All-Ireland winning side have been unveiled as the GPA Lifetime Achievement Award winners for 2016. They will receive their honours at the annual GPA Former Players Event in Croke Park the afternoon before the All-Ireland football final, on Saturday September 17.
