Irish Cancer Society's Hurling for Cancer Research 2017
15 August 2017; Jimmy Barry Murphy, former Cork hurler/footballer and manager, acting as referee, at the sixth annual Hurling for Cancer Research game, a celebrity hurling match in aid of the Irish Cancer Society in St Conleth’s Park, Newbridge. The event, organised by legendary racehorse trainer Jim Bolger and National Hunt jockey Davy Russell, has raised €540,000 to date to fund the Irish Cancer Society’s innovative cancer research projects.
