Beacon Hospital's launch new sports medicine programme in partnership with Leinster Senior Football League
21 November 2018; Irish football legend Damien Duff and Dr Alan Byrne, Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine at Beacon Hospital, joined Beacon Hospital to launch its new sports medicine initiative with the Leinster Senior Football League, at the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown, Dublin. Previously, access to treatment for injured players in the Leinster Senior Football League could take a significant amount of time and was costly in many cases. Now, players injured during LSL training or match will have quick access to internationally renowned sports medicine experts at Beacon Hospital. Both JLT and AIG have signed up as insurance partners on the programme, so the bulk of injury related medical expenses will be covered, reducing costs for players. Beacon Hospital offers best in class treatments for injury prevention and management, with a multi-disciplinary or team-based approach. Beacon’s Sports Medicine facility allows for rapid player access to sports medicine physicians, orthopaedic consultants and physiotherapy and radiology services. Photo by Stephen McCarthy/Sportsfile
