19 May 2020; The cancellation of this year's KBC Dublin Marathon because of the Covid 19 Virus restrictions that could still be in place in October, has derailed plans for Kildare man Dave Brady to complete marathon one thousand in the event he first took part in back in 1986. Since then, Dave, who turns 70 in September, has notched up a massive total of 928 marathons, with an excellent personal best time of 2:50.25, set in Dublin in 1988. He has run the Dublin Marathon on thirty four occasions and was greatly looking forward to celebrating his one thousandth marathon in Dublin - a major milestone in his 70th year. Here Dave is seen at work on Fenian Street, Dublin. Photo by David Fitzgerald/Sportsfile
