To The New Generation is a series of portraits of Black athletes in Ireland, representing their communities and families, and in some instances Ireland, in a variety of sports, including athletics, basketball, GAA, rugby and soccer. Their stories reflect a contemporary and multicultural Ireland and Ireland’s place in the world, moving more and more from an emigrant nation to an immigrant nation offering hope and a life to many people from beyond our shores.
