Launch of A Season of Sundays 2020
19 December 2020; The canvas is set, and referee David Coldrick from Meath is about to throw the ball in for the first All-Ireland senior football final to be played behind closed doors. The edifice of concrete and steel that is Páirc an Chrócaigh can accommodate 82,300 people but not today – and not all season. Members of the media get the Willie Wonka golden tickets to attend the match but not too many others get inside the gates. Will we ever see the like of it again.
