Castlecomer Wellie Race 2025

1 January 2025; Entertainers as part of the parade before the 45th annual Castlecomer Wellie Race in Castlecomer, Kilkenny, ran in aid of a number of local and national charities. Originally started in 1978, the local men decided to run off the Christmas excess by having a race over a cross country circuit. Not being the type of men that would be seen in a pair of proper running shoes, let alone actually own a pair, the most obvious footwear for this type of event was wellingtons.
