27 October 2010; TEAM Ireland member James Crowe, from Dublin Road, Limerick City, who won who came in 5th place in the bowling doubles event, won a Bronze medal in the singles bowling event and a Gold medal in the bowling team event at the 2010 Special Olympics European Games, with President Mary McAleese, Dr. Martin McAleese, alongside Rita and Marc Crowe at a reception to celebrate their achievements in Aras an Uachtarain, Phoenix Park, Dublin.
