Etihad Airways special Poc Fada
30 May 2012; Etihad Airways, sponsors of the GAA Hurling All Ireland Senior Championship and the Etihad Skyline, hosted a special Poc Fada competition at Croke Park. The Abu Dhabi-based airline invited 14 hurlers, from the 14 championship counties, to take part in the Poc Fada. Each player was tasked with aiming the sliotar at destinations on a giant map of the Etihad network that was rolled out across the Croke Park pitch. Local charities, nominated beforehand by each player, then received a pair of return tickets to the destination that the sliotar landed on. Pictured are players, from left to right, Johnny McCaffrey, Dublin, Brian Hogan, Kilkenny, Keith Rossiter, Wexford, Patrick Mullaney, Laois, Cyril Donnellon, Galway, Shane McNaughton, Antrim, Des Shaw, Carlow, William Egan, Cork, John O'Brien, Tipperary, Donal O'Grady, Limerick, John Conlon, Clare, Pauric Mahony, Waterford, Shane Dooley, Offaly and Westmeath’s John Shaw, in attendance at the event.
