Cadbury's Gaelic Writers Association Awards 2012
13 October 2012; Some of the greatest players ever to grace the games of hurling and football, as well as some of those who are charged with reporting their feats, were acknowledged at the Cadbury’s Gaelic Writers’ Association Awards at Dublin’s Louis Fitzgerald Hotel. Among the hurlers inducted into the Cadburys’ GWA Hall of Fame were Joe Quaid and Conor Hayes. Quaid starred in goal for Limerick when they won the Munster championship and reached the All-Ireland final in both 1994 and 1996. Quaid also won Allstar awards in those years. Hayes was the cornerstone of the Galway defence that won three All-Ireland senior titles in 1980, 1987 and 1988 and also won three Allstar awards during his career. In 1992 he enjoyed success with his club Kiltormer when they won the All-Ireland club title. Sean Boylan was recognised for his legendary football achievements in guiding Meath to four All-Ireland, three National League and eight Leinster titles.
