30 November 2012; Sarah O'Connor, from the Federation of Irish Sport, which represents all of Ireland’s national sporting organisations, centre, today teamed up with athletes, from left, Team Ireland boxer Darren O'Neill, Kerry footballer Darran O'Sullivan, Team Ireland modern pentathlete Natalya Coyle and Leinster and Ireland centre Fergus McFadden to celebrate the publishing of the Federation’s annual review. The review is a reminder to key influencers of the positive power of sport in Ireland and also to ensure that the development and funding of sport remains a Government priority. This year’s review sets out the potential for sport in Vision 2020 warning that despite Irish sport continuing to shine brightly, decisions today could have a major negative impact in the future setting Irish sport back decades. It also outlines the importance of sports tourism for the future and also the role of sport in tackling obesity problems. Ely Place, Dublin. Picture credit: Matt Browne / SPORTSFILE
