September 29th will be the 40th time that the final of the Senior Ladies Gaelic Football Final will be contested. The first final took place in October 1974 and was contested by Tipperary and Offaly in a game that was won by the Tipperary women. The most successful team in the history of the game are Kerry who have won the title on 11 occasions including an unprecedented 9-in-a-row. In recent years Cork have been the dominant force winning 7 of the last 8 titles. TG4 made the announcement that RefCam will be introduced to Irish Sport for the first time. The lightweight head mounted device will be a feature of TG4’s live coverage of the 2013 Ladies Football Championship and will provide viewers with unique insight into the game but it will also be a hugely valuable coaching resource for referees. 2013 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Championship Launch, Croke Park, Dublin.
