Leinster Rugby Charity Partner Launch
10 September 2014; Leinster Rugby have this morning announced two new charity partners for the season ahead with LauraLynn Children's Hospice and Special Olympics Leinster, confirmed at a special gathering in Leinster Rugby head offices in UCD. LauraLynn is a hospice providing end-of-life and respite care for children with life-limiting conditions, and support to their families. Special Olympics is a sports organisation for people with an intellectual disability and the focus of the partnership will be with the Leinster and the Eastern regions. Leinster Rugby head coach Matt O’Connor and players including captain Jamie Heaslip met representatives of both charities this morning. Speaking at the announcement was Leinster Rugby CEO, Mick Dawson, Sharon Morrow, CEO of LauraLynn and Annette Codd, Regional Director of Special Olympics Leinster. Leinster Rugby also announced a new process for other charities to engage with the province. By going on to www.leinsterrugby.ie/charitypartners and filling out a new online request form, charities can apply for support for their events on a once off basis.
