GAA Legends Henry Shefflin and Karl Lacey launch Kellogg’s renewed sponsorship deal with GAA Cúl Camps
28 April 2015; Television and radio Presenter Mairéad Farrell was on hand today alongside Kilkenny hurling legend Henry Shefflin, left, and four-time All-Star Donegal Gaelic footballer Karl Lacey, to launch ‘Kellogg’s Powering Play,’ a fun game based nutritional workshop, developed in conjunction with the GAA. The module, held in selected Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps this summer is designed to encourage kids to think about powering their play through nutrition. Research* conducted by Kellogg’s has revealed that one in four kids (26.2%) surveyed believe that junk food gives them energy and makes them better at sport, while one in ten (10%) children admitted that eating healthy food and being active is only important because “my Mam or teacher tell me to”. Pictured alongside Mairéad are Alice Brannigan, left, aged eight, and Hannah Brannigan, aged seven, and twins Conor, right, and Tadhg Scanlon, both aged seven. Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps take place throughout the summer in over 1,000 clubs around the country. Parents can log on to www.gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps to book their child’s place. Croke Park, Co. Dublin.
