Call for nominations for National Awards to Volunteers in Irish Sport
30 August 2006; Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, John O'Donoghue, TD, and Dublin GAA star Conal Keaney lend a helping hand to youngsters Aaron Ashmore, age 8, and Amy Hadad, age 7, as they complete the first nomination for Ireland's first ever 'National Awards to Volunteers in Irish Sport'. Minister O'Donoghue called on sports clubs throughout the country to nominate volunteers for the new awards which will recognise the role that the country's 400,000 volunteers play in sustaining and developing sport in Ireland.
